For My Superhero (Kathy Berger)

For My Superhero
by Kathy Berger

My older brother Bob is a superhero. When my eldest brother, who had been taking care of Mom, passed away unexpectedly in June, Bob stepped in. Not only did he take care of Ron's estate issues and cleaned out his belongings, he and his wife volunteered to move in to take care of Mom. It wasn't going to be easy, though.

Since June Bob almost single-handedly remodeled the lower floor of Mom's house to turn it into an apartment for him and his wife. He jack-hammered out the concrete floor of the half-bath to put in a shower and laundry. He turned an unfinished room that had been the laundry/furnace room into a lovely little kitchen. He moved a room entrance, added an exit for safety, tiled floors, patched and painted walls and ceilings. He even found time to do a little work to the outside of the house to make it more functional for him, and for mom.

And he did all of this AFTER his regular 40+ hour work-weeks.

He and his wife moved in last week, and this is a card I made to send to him, as a thank-you, and as a house-warming.

I honestly don't know what Mom would have done without him. He is our very own Superhero.

Here is the inside of the card, with a little envelope I made that is just the right size to hold a gift card.
